Getting Started

Congratulations on taking the first step in your therapy process: researching your options, and finding the right therapist for you. If you feel like I may be a good fit for what you are looking for, the next step is to contact me to set up an initial session. I will send you information about my fees, schedule, and office policies and procedures prior to our first meeting.

Our initial session will be a chance to get to know each other a little bit better.  I welcome questions about my approach, my experience as a therapist, and what you can expect from working with me. I also will ask you more about what brings you to seek therapy, and what you are hoping to get out of our time together.  This initial session is an opportunity to assess if we are a good fit to move forward together.

If we decide to move forward together, we will set up regular weekly or biweekly appointments, depending on what your treatment needs and goals are. Please note that due to my teaching and speaking schedule, I am out of the office on average once a month, sometimes a bit more, sometimes less. I will do my best to minimize the impact this has on the regularity of our sessions, and I will inform you in advance of my travel schedule so that we can reschedule and plan accordingly.
